17.258 - WIA Adult Program
Project Description:
CFDA 17.258 - The
purpose of this program is to improve the quality of the workforce,
reduce welfare dependency, and enhance the productivity and
competitiveness of the nation's economy by providing workforce
investment activities that increase the employment, retention, and
earnings of participants, and increase occupational skill attainment by
the participants. This program is designed to increase employment, as
measured by entry into unsubsidized employment, retention in
unsubsidized employment after entry into employment, and earnings. For
cross-cutting goals, the program intends to enhance customer
satisfaction for participants and for employers. The employment goals
will be measured using Unemployment Insurance Wage Records systems and
customer satisfaction goals will be measured by sampling.
Community Benefits:
Creates jobs for social caseworkers, and ebables more
jobless individuals to get assistance in finding jobs, training and
education.
