Responsibility:
The ADAMHS Board is responsible for the planning, funding and monitoring of public mental health and alcohol and other drug addiction services delivered to the residents of Cuyahoga County. The ADAMHS Board does not provide services directly to consumers and clients, but contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist consumers and clients on the road to recovery.
Qualifications:
The 18-member Board shall reflect the composition of the population of Cuyahoga County as to race and sex. Board members shall be residents of Cuyahoga County interested in alcohol and other drug and mental health services who meet one of the following criteria:
At least one member shall be a person recovering from an alcohol or other drug addiction or who is receiving services for alcohol or drug addiction; a parent or relative of a recovering person, or a person receiving treatment services; an advocate of persons receiving services; a professional in the alcohol or other drug treatment field. Additionally, one member shall be a person who has or is receiving mental health services; one shall be a parent or relative of such a person; one shall be a psychiatrist or a physician and one shall be a mental health professional.

Public Meetings:
Meetings are held at 4:00 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at the ADAMHS Board offices. The Board does not meet in August or December.
